In olden days, the best social network was the immediate neighborhood, villages and towns. People use to interact distribute sweets and pleasantries. Same as we do in virtual world Facebook Twitter. Holi celebrates the legend of Radha and Krishna and the pleasure Krishna took in applying color on Radha and other Gopis (Female Friends). This tradition of applying color has since then been followed by Indians world over.
