Google AdWords Clickthrough Rate

Keep a close eye on keyword performance with these strategies:
  • Update your keyword lists regularly. Pause or remove the words that aren't working well for you (for example, if they have CTRs below 1%, or low Quality Scores) and add new ones. Add columns and segments to your statistics table on your Keywords tab for an overview of your keywords' clicks, CTR, Quality Scores, and more.
  • Use the four keyword matching options to help control who sees your ads. Add the Match type column to the statistics table on your Keywords tab to see how the different keyword matching options perform for you. With some options, you'll enjoy more ad impressions, clicks, and conversions. With others, you'll get fewer impressions and more narrow targeting.
  • For a comprehensive view of keyword quality, run a keyword diagnosis. It gives you information about your keywords' Quality Scores and whether they're triggering your ads. A Quality Score of 5 or higher is generally considered good.

Advertising On Facebook Using New Algorithm EdgeRank

Facebook built a News Feed sorting algorithm, unofficially known as EdgeRank, that analyzes every signal possible to determine the relevance of each post to each person. Roughly 100,000 different indicators of importance are factored in.

  • How popular (Liked, commented on, shared, clicked) are the post creator’s past posts with everyone
  • How popular is this post with everyone who has already seen it
  • How popular have the post creator’s past posts been with the viewer
  • Do the type of post (status update, photo, video, link) match what types have been popular with the viewer in the past
  • How recently was the post published

Google Adwords Save Money! Check And Understand Quality Score

Every time someone does a search that triggers an ad that competes in an auction, we calculate an Ad Rank. This calculation incorporates your bid, auction-time measurements of expected CTR, ad relevance, landing page experience, and other factors. To determine the auction-time quality components, we look at a number of different factors. By improving the following factors you can help improve the quality components of your Ad Rank:

Your ad's expected CTR: This is based in part on your ad's historical clicks and impressions (excluding factors such as ad position, extensions, and other formats that may have affected the visibility of an ad that someone previously clicked)

Your display URL's past CTR: The historical clicks and impressions your display URL has received

The quality of your landing page: How relevant, transparent, and easy-to-navigate your page is

Your ad/search relevance: How relevant your ad text is to what a person searches for

Geographic performance: How successful your account has been in the regions you're targeting

Your targeted devices: How well your ads have been performing on different types of devices, like desktops/laptops, mobile devices, and tablets

How ad quality affects you

The quality components of Ad Rank are used in several different ways and can affect the following things in your account:

Ad auction eligibility: Having better quality components typically makes it easier and cheaper for your ads to enter an auction. Our measures of ad quality also help determine whether your ad is qualified to appear at all.

Your actual cost-per-click (CPC): Higher quality ads can often lead to lower CPCs. That means you pay less per click when your ads are higher quality.

Your keyword's first page bid estimate: Higher quality ads are typically associated with lower first page bid estimates. That means it's easier for your ads to show on the first page of search results when they have high quality components (expected CTR, ad relevance, and landing page experience).

Your keyword's top of page bid estimate: Higher quality ads are typically associated with lower top of page bid estimates. That means it's easier for your ad to show towards the top of the page when your ads are higher quality.

Ad position: Higher quality ads lead to higher ad positions, meaning they can show up higher on the page.

Eligibility for ad extensions and other ad formats: Some ad formats require a minimum ad quality threshold to show. In addition, your Ad Rank determines whether or not your ad is eligible to be displayed with ad extensions and other ad formats, such as sitelinks. Because Ad Rank is a function of the components of Quality Score, higher quality ads can increase the likelihood that your ad is displayed with extensions and other formats.

In a nutshell, higher quality ads typically lead to lower costs and better ad positions. The AdWords system works best for everybody – advertisers, customers, publishers, and Google – when the ads we show are relevant, closely matching what customers are looking for. Relevant ads tend to earn more clicks, appear in a higher position, and bring you the most success.

YouTube Content Marketing Tools

Content Marketing Institute research shows that brands — including Coca-Cola and Toyota — are not just creating effective YouTube channels, they’re also embedding YouTube videos on their own websites. In fact, 61 of the Top 100 brands now embed YouTube videos on their websites (further blurring the lines between digital channels). We’re also noticing more diverse video methods and styles. Intel, for one, effectively combines both professionally produced content with user-generated content.

As per Wall Street Journal Media firms acknowledge benefits from posting clips on YouTube. Reaching its huge audience—a billion users globally a month—helps promote TV shows even if the ad money generated isn’t meaningful for large media conglomerates, executives say. YouTube continues to secure premium video deals. A YouTube spokeswoman said YouTube’s partners’ revenue has increased 50% for each of the past three years. “We are thrilled that creators can find both large audiences as well as high growth revenue opportunities on YouTube.”

Here are a few tools that can help your small business improve its video content marketing.

Google AdWords Bid Simulator Insight

The bid simulators collect and analyze data from ad auctions on Google and the Search Network from the last seven days, while considering information such as Quality Score, your competitors' bids, and keyword traffic. The tools use this information to estimate where your ad would've appeared and how frequently it would have received a click.

Remember, the bid simulators can provide insight into how your bids could've affected ad performance over the last seven days, but they don't attempt to predict future performance. For instance, you might have reason to believe that your ad performance will go up or down during a particular week, and you'll want to keep that in mind when choosing your bids for that time period.

Time To Cut Cable Netflix, Hulu and YouTube

Indian Festival Holi The Age Old Social Media

In olden days, the best social network was the immediate neighborhood, villages and towns. People use to interact distribute sweets and pleasantries. Same as we do in virtual world Facebook Twitter. Holi celebrates the legend of Radha and Krishna and the pleasure Krishna took in applying color on Radha and other Gopis (Female Friends). This tradition of applying color has since then been followed by Indians world over.

Don’t Waste Your time, Social Media Is No Longer Free !

Marketers have been complaining for some time that organic reach no longer exists on social media and that brands have to pay for adverts if they want to engage with their target audience.

These rumblings have been growing louder over the past 12 months, particularly in regards to Facebook, which some marketers claim is now little more than a glorified advertising network. However, it could be that Twitter will also become a so-called ‘pay-to-play’ network for marketers, as it recently hinted at plans to implement a news feed-style algorithm.

This means users will no longer see tweets in one continuous real-time feed, but will be shown the content that Twitter deems to be the most important or relevant. Apparently the aim is to improve the user experience, but a cynic might suggest Twitter also wants to squeeze more ad revenue from brands by restricting their organic reach.

Youtube Biggest Loophole Plugged !

Google recently revised its advertising policy to block "graphical title cards" or video overlays of sponsor logos or product branding unless YouTube is paid for the advertisement.

The Google spokesperson said one reason YouTube decided to sternly implement its policy was allowing such ads could create channel conflict. "For instance, we serve a Honda ad before the content starts playing, and they're plugging 'brought to you by Toyota'. It is a bad experience for the users seeing two ads back to back," the person said.

Google Changes Website Ranking System

Google will rank websites on the search engine based on factual accuracy. Google research team will model the search on trustworthiness of a page rather then on its reputation. Google uses incoming links to a web page as a proxy for quality to appear in search results and ranking. Instead of counting incoming links, the system will count the number of incorrect facts within a page. Web pages that contain contradictory information will be bumped down the rankings.

Mobile Can Only Keep You Alive

Digital health apps promise to radically change the way health care is delivered and accessed. Doctors won’t go away, but they will have a lot more information about you and your health, and it will stream in from more sources than ever before. For healthcare delivery, we’re rapidly moving from a world of inbound patients to a world of inbound data. The impact of this shift on the healthcare system and how consumers use and act on health information should not be underestimated.

The mobile health technology market--including devices, applications, and services--is expected to exceed $8 billion by 2018, according to research company GlobalData. That's up from $500 million in 2010, a 44% compound annual growth rate. The rapid growth is being fueled by the increasing availability of a variety of healthcare applications.

Social Media Brings Billions To Healthcare

Perhaps more than in any other field, the power of the testimonial is key in health care, as patients and families researching diagnoses often turn to patients with similar experiences. Social media gives hospitals and clinics the chance to share patient stories and connect consumers. "Patients really want an outlet for telling their stories and social is such beautiful way for people to do that," said Margaret Coughlin, senior VP-chief marketing and communications officer for Boston Children's Hospital, which has a strong presence on Facebook.

Patient services revenue grew from $1 billion to $1.4 billion, according to annual reports. Hospital's integrated marketing approach, which includes TV, print, digital, earned media, social and other types of direct marketing, contributed to the growth.

Digital Flu Catches Pharmaceutical Companies

North Carolina drug-development company, took the unusual step in July of appointing a digital advisory board whose members include executives experienced in digital marketing.

“The ability to control the message is no longer possible,” Palestrant said. “The opportunity for industry is no longer to control the conversation, the opportunity is to be part of that conversation.”

Bonin Bough, PepsiCo‘s (NYSE:PEP) director of digital and social media, said digital communication is taking over every aspect of people’s lives. Companies need to be part of that digital change.

Pozen’s Chief Commercial Officer Liz Cermak said that Pozen will share its ideas as they develop because the company could be pioneering new practices that will be used by other pharmas.

In the meantime, regulators are expected to come up with guidelines for how companies communicate in the digital realm. Palestrant said companies can’t wait for regulators. It’s up to industry to demonstrate how new ways of communicating with doctors and patients can be successful.
